On September 29-30, 2022 in St. Petersburg (Russia) at the St. Petersburg Institute of history of the Russian Academy of sciences took place the International scientific conference “A History Textbook for the Future. A New Look”. More about the conference – here.
Below is a report from the second day of the conference on September 30th. About the first day – here.
One of the important questions
NGO “Khachmeruk” (“Crossroads”) immediately after the conference posted on its web site materials, but of the dozens of issues raised by the speakers on September 29 and 30, there is one the most “poisonous” and dangerous. This is a topic of obvious lies, obvious historical falsifications and distortions, which are distributed through history books.
Below is a short video of fragments of four speeches “for” and “contra”.
In the speeches of V. Babakhanyan and A. Melkonyan, they spoke, in particular, about the book by a group of authors – ten leading Russian historians, published in 2009 under the editorship of A.A. Danilov, A.V. Filippov – “Coverage of the general history of Russia and the peoples of the post-Soviet countries in school history textbooks in the new independent states” (389 pages) http://crossroadorg.info/az-history-2009/ A.A. Danilov participated in the conference. Armenian and foreign authors constantly write about the problem https://aga-tribunal.info/fake-textbooks/
But in this book, Russian historians have already proved multiple facts, a whole system of deliberate lies in the textbooks of Azerbaijan. More than 12 years have passed, but not only the situation has not improved, it has become even worse. Brought up with poisonous lies and hatred in schools, they are now committing recurrent crimes against humanity and crimes of culturocide. The price of condoning the continued system of lies and historical distortions is very high.
The problem raised at the conference was heard by its organizer. The fight against lies, falsifications and distortions continues.
