The creation of the “Crossroad” public organization was preceded by the process of consolidation of various experts on the topic of the Armenian Genocide in Azerbaijan (AGA). There was created a so-called the “Yerevan Group on Legal Recognition of AGA” which held several meetings between October 2017 and December 2018 and which conducted regular public activities.

However, since the AGA theme demanded and requires a broader approach, including both civilizational values, philosophy, ideology, sociology, and issues of Artsakh, Western Armenia, the Middle East region, and, on the other hand, the sphere of interests of the Yerevan Group members also covered and other areas, including culture, education, so it was decided to create and to officially register in Armenia an “umbrella” public organization with a wide profile. In November, the Khachmeruk organization was officially registered, and at the expanded meeting of the Yerevan Group in December 2018, it was decided to include this group in the “Crossroad” as one of the directions.
